STCW Basic Safety

Our five day entry level STCW Basic Safety training programme meets the requirements of the international ‘Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping’, commonly known as STCW 95. These standards, established by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), provide a baseline for the STCW Basic Safety training and education of seafarers around the world.

They were introduced to counter a growing number of accidents at sea caused by ‘human error’, several of which involved vessels we now know as 'superyachts'.

With safety high on the yacht owner’s agenda, it is now commonplace to request an STCW 95 Basic Safety training certificate from even the most junior crew members.

Our STCW Basic Sea Safety course consists of four modules, which together meet the STCW 95 requirements:

• Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
  

• Elementary First Aid
  

• Personal Survival Techniques
