This cruise, the shortest ocean passage on offer, starts with a non stop 600 mile passage, and is ideal for those who wish to sample blue water cruising for the first time. Following an initial period for passage planning and preparation at Hamble, this exciting blue water adventure leaves the Solent bound for the Rias of north west Spain. Perhaps a glimpse of the Casquets off the Channel Islands and then Ushant precede a crossing of the Bay of Biscay, making landfall after five or six days in Galicia. When you arrive in Spain there will be plenty of time to recover in either Villagarcia de Arousa, Bayonna or one of the many rias around Cape Finisterre, before embarking on a more leisurely cruise of the Spanish Rias. Situated between Finisterre and the Portuguese border, this area offers superb cruising, considered by many to be the best in Spain. Galicia - Hamble
This ocean passage starts in NW Spain with a leisurely cruise of the Spanish Rias. This allows you to enjoy a familiarisation cruise of the area, whilst providing time for passage planning and preparation. With an eye on weather reports, you will decide on the best time to leave the Rias for a crossing of the Bay of Biscay. Departing from the mainland North of Finisterre your passage takes you straight across "the Bay" and around Ushant into the busy Western Approaches to the English Channel. Your cruise will make landfall in Weymouth, Poole or the Solent before arriving in Hamble.
