COVID-19 Sailing courses during the pandemic

UPDATED 12th January 2022

Keeping students and staff safe from COVID remains a priority, we would therefore ask all students to take two NHS rapid lateral flow COVID tests. One at home the evening before joining us AND again on the arrival morning. Your negative results can be shown to us on registration via the NHS app on your phone.  If you do not have the app – please bring along the actual test strips in a sealed clear plastic bag. Tests are available free of charge and can be ordered for home delivery, using the link below.

A demonstration on how to take the test, can be viewed in the video link below.  We thank you for your support in helping to keep us all safe.

We look forward to welcoming you to BOSS soon!

CHANNEL ISLANDS CRUISE UPDATE  - 12th January 2022

We are looking forward to resuming Channel Islands cruises this year. However, please be aware that the like a lot of places the entry requirements for the Islands are fluid and are subject to change at any time. If the entry requirements at the time of the cruise, preclude us from visiting; then our cruise itinerary will be amended to remain in UK waters.

The current requirements can be seen, using the chart below issued by the Guernsey Contingencies Authority. Please note that because of the nature of these cruises and the limited time we spend on the various islands we visit; it is not possible to self isolate onboard whilst awaiting the results of a PCR test. Therefore, regrettably we are not currently able to accept bookings from overseas customers unless they are fully vaccinated and planning on being in the Common Travel Area  (the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man) in the 10 days preceding the cruise departure date.

There is also a compulsory £25pp fee for the issue of 5 lateral flow tests. This is not included in the cruise fee and must be paid  by each crew member to the port authority on arrival in the Channel Islands.

As a condition of booking, all cruise participants are also required to have an adequate travel insurance policy to included COVID cancellation. For non UK residents, please ensure that this also covers adequate medical cover which is regrettably no longer covered since the UK's departure from the EU.
