Cross Channel Experience

Looking to gain more experience outside of the RYA scheme? Our 5 day cross Channel trips are ideal for those looking to build on their sailing experience. These trips are ideal for those looking for mileage, offshore navigation experience or 60NM passages. Under the guidenance of one of our experienced instructors, you wil be learn how to cross the Channel with confidence. Weather permitting, our destination will be Cherbourg or Alderney.  After a familiarisation day onboard, we will head down to either Lymington or Yarmouth ready for an early start the following day. After a day time crossing over to France, a rest day is scheduled before the return trip to the Solent. A shame to go all that way without sampling the delights of a meal ashore! 

During the 5 days, you will log two 60NM passages and around 150NM.

These trips are suitable for those who are confident crew members. Participants need to be able to helm a compass course and be able to stand a watch. A minimum of an RYA  Competent Crew certificate is required.

For those who have previous skippering experience and have completed the RYA Coastal Skipper/ Yachtmaster theory course, it may be possible to use one of the 60NM passages as a skippered passage.  Please call us on 02380 457733 for more details.
