At BOSS, we specialise in running five day cruising courses for teenagers. Programmed to run during the school holidays, a BOSS cruising course provides an ideal solution to keeping teenagers happy and active and during the long summer holiday.
These specially developed courses are open to young people between the ages 14-17** No previous sailing experience is necessary and teens can come along as individuals or come with a group of friends! Our sailing adventures take place within the Solent. Visit interesting places, learn valuable life skills, whilst having a great time & gain a recognised RYA qualification.
Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Five day courses meet the criteria for the Residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award (DofE) scheme.
*PLEASE NOTE Our maximum group size available for RYA courses is 5.
Therefore if you using the course for your Residential section, to comply with the DofE Gold Residential guidelines you will need to join on your own and not with a friend or group of friends.
** Pupils who are 18 and in year 13/ still in full time education, are able to join our Youth courses on thier own or with their friends in the same year group.

• RYA Certificate
Most of our youth sailors will be working towards the RYA Competent Crew qualification. The Day Skipper practical syllabus can be followed by those aged 16 - 17, who have the appropriate experience and meet the pre course requirements.
For those who already hold the Competent Crew certificate, or have the relevant pre course experience we are offering a 9 day combined RYA Day Skipper theory & practical course.
